AT LAST!!...THE WORLD'S #1 DVD GUIDE TO HAVING GREAT STAGE PERFORMANCE LIKE THE STARS IS HERE!!!!
Introducing a new breakthrough DVD for musicians and singers!!!!
Learn how to be amazing and confident on stage.
over 3 hours of groundbreaking advice on 8 CD's showing you how to perform with authority and power on stage better than you ever thought was possible!!
The purpose of a voice teacher is to help train your voice and help to get it to be at its peak. What do you do once it is actually at its peak though? Believe it or not, in the YouTube world we live in today, the most important thing for a singer to be good at isn't necessarily singing; its performing!
So what do you do if you've got the best voice around, but absolutely no stage presence? How can you make the minor adjustments needed to bring your stage performance from looking like a drunken amateur at a frat party, to a Grammy award winner performing for millions in a stadium? Performance coach Alex Boye can get you there.
It has nothing to do with how amazing your voice is (I know so many incredible singers who are broke, or working dead end jobs). Neither does it have anything to do with how much money you spend on fancy lighting, or high end sound equipment.(I am currently working with some artists who sit on stage with just a guitar, a microphone and one spotlight who is now seeing 100% improvement on their shows! )
It has every bit to do with HOW and WHAT you present on stage.
That is why it is called STAGE PRESENCE
ONLY ARTISTS WHO HAVE STAGE PRESENCE CAN MAKE IT IN THIS BUSINESS
BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THAT IS!! YOU CANNOT GO TO SCHOOL FOR IT.
BUT I CAN TEACH YOU HOW TO HAVE IT!!!
"When I found Alex's site online, I immediately emailed him with my interest in reviewing this DVD series, "Don't Suck On Stage". I had been searching for a product that focuses on stage presence for years, and this looked like exactly what I needed. "
"After receiving the package, I realized just how in depth this program really is. There really is a ton of information to be covered."
"I recommend EVERY musician buy this DVD series. There is nothing like it out there today, and it is one of the most helpful tools you will ever come across on your road to being a better overall musician."
Let me let you into some secrets that 85% of singers and musicians on myspace do not know!!!
INTRODUCING A NEW BREAKTHROUGH DVD FOR MUSICIANS AND SINGERS.........
The first chapter of the set begins with Alex speaking to his workshop crowd about the simple things one can do to improve a performance. Through the analogies, you quickly begin to understand and grasp that in performance, the small things that you do make a huge difference between looking like an amateur karaoke star, or a Grammy award deserving vocalist.
This first disk is full of personal stories from Alex. One of the most eye opening is a story about his friends who were signed to a record deal. They spent 5 months working on a record, and had a hit single on the radio. But, they failed to focus on their STAGE performance, only doing 2 days of rehearsals, and as a result were dropped by the label due to their lackluster stage performances. This is a big reason why this DVD is so important. You can have an album out on a major label, a hit single tearing up the charts, but if you can't interest people with your live performance, you've got no future in this business.
Another essential concept covered in this chapter are 'moments'. These are times in the show that stand out for people that are memorable. Without them, no one will really be able to remember anything special about the show, and because of that will quickly lose interest in your act.
The next thing covered is the importance of consistency, and being able to convince people you believe in every word your singing. Alex thinks this is what separates amateurs from pros; being able to make other people feel what your singing. At the same time, you have to do this consistently. More analogies are provided with these two topics, and they help to make the musician really understand the importance of being genuine and consistent.
In the closing of this first chapter, Alex describes the difference of singing a song and telling a song. The difference is another deciding factor of whether you will be singing in a garage or an arena for the remainder of your life.

Chapter 2 is all about connecting with your audience. Alex is teaching the musicians at the workshop that its important to not be selfish during a live show. As much as you may be into yourself and into your own performance, it really is about the audience, so audience participation and making sure they keep interested in the show is crucial.
Another story that stands out and really proves the point is of a festival where 12 different bands played, and each had a 20 minute set. At the end of the concert, Alex asked the guy selling the CDs which artist had sold the most. He was shocked with the answer, and began to analyze why this artist outsold the others. He realized that this guy did something the other acts at the festival didn't; he spoke to the audience. He only sang 2 songs, and spoke to the audience the rest of the time. Why did the audience prefer this guy? Because he made a personal connection with the them through speaking rather than just trying to slam as many songs together as possible to impress everyone.
'Sing or Die Singers' are covered next. Fantasia is the perfect example. She was broke, couldn't read, couldn't drive, had a baby and didn't know where the father was; basically , she had a rough life. She then went on American Idol and it was a 'sing or die' situation. She gave it all she had on every single note. There were singers who sang better technically, but no one could touch her. She had the sense of urgency and emotion in her voice that makes her stand out. Why? Because shes put all of her life experience into each and every song she sings, which is much more powerful than a perfectly sung and choreographed performance.
THIS IS WHAT STAGE PRESENCE IS PEOPLE...THERE IS MORE!!!
Alex goes on to talk about the importance of actual connections with fans off the stage as well. Being able to connect with your fans and workers at the venue through normal conversation can result in increased ticket and CD sales. He gives a story of visiting a small town and getting to know the people in it, and doing a show for 3,000 the next day; all because he took the time to speak to the people in this small town that is usually passed on by touring artists all the time.
The last major point made is to lose your inhibitions. Alex gives examples of performers who go on stage with absolutely no inhibitions, and points out how that makes them successful.
Disc 1 Chapter 2 Runtime 59:33
The 2nd DVD is all about different techniques which can be used onstage to enhance your performance. Alex opens up the discussion with the main analogy used throughout this series; imagining you are a restaurant owner. As a restaurant owner, you must have a menu with a variety of different things on it. Same goes for a performer; you've got to have a variety of things going on in your live show to keep people interested.
The next thing covered are the different 'tools of the trade' for musicians, the first being microphone technique. In the discussion of mic technique, Alex discusses how the sound levels/mic technique can be adjusted for a worn out voice, different angles you can hold a mic from, and developing a signature move with your mic, like Roger Daltry of The Who has done.
Alex discusses how mic technique can affect your audience applause. By following his advice on this topic, you can receive a long ovation each time you perform. You will also learn how to keep from cutting off the ovation that you have just worked so hard to get. Other topics covered during the microphone technique discussion include what to do during musical breaks, studying other singers for performance tips, and more.
Other topics covered include mic stand techniques, headset mic techniques, using a stool in performance, angling in live performance, movement on stage, and much more.
Disc 2 Chapter 3 Runtime 44:30
Chapter 4 is all about artist critiques. Artists from the audience get on stage and are critiqued by Alex, just as if they were in a private coaching session with him. He coaches each artist as to what they are doing well, and what they could improve upon. Watching this section will be truly eye opening to everyone who purchases the DVD. You will notice traits that you have in common with each performer (both good and bad), and can use Alex's advice to improve your own performance. Alex also covers how to incorporate the audience into your song. Once you use these tips, you will be able to get your audience more involved and into your performances, making for a more memorable and successful show.
Disc 2 Chapter 4 Runtime 23:06
The final Chapter of this DVD series covers how to use the Song Script. The Song Script was created by Alex, and is intended to guide you through a 45 minute to 1 hour long set. Alex guides you in a step-by-step manner on how to put together the best and most effective performance possible. After watching this DVD, you will have the direction and ideas needed to put together the best show you're capable of.
